Crispy Coated Baked Green Beans

I just love green beans and asparagus baked, simply drizzle EVOO , salt and pepper and baked it and enjoy it as side dish . But wanted to try green beans as "fries". so just coated in breadcrumbs and baked it, of course you can deep fried too but hey, I don't like to take out my frying oil out and go thru frying and stink up the whole house. Ya to make puris, I don't mind once in a while frying but in other time, try to use baking and use my oven more.

I like to eat this way too, just roast it with balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper  and enjoy it.

Ingredients :

1 lb. Green beans or at least 25-30
2 cups of bread crumbs - season it with salt and pepper
1 cup of buttermilk / egg - season it with salt and pepper
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

Method:

Preheat oven to 400 F.

Line two baking sheets with parchment paper , set aside.

Place breadcrumbs, buttermilk in two separate bowls.

Dip beans in buttermilk, then breadcrumbs and put it on baking sheet.

Once all done, bake it for 10-12 minutes or until its golden and crispy.

Serve immediately with your old friend ketchup or make garlic aioli  (in mayo, add chopped garlic and salt and pepper)

  1. Oh this looks so amazing and it's so easy to cook. Could you clarify that you coat the beans in Olive oil before dipping the beans into buttermilk and breag crumbs? Or is this an oil free version? And you serve them topped with parmesan cheese?

    1. you don't need to coat in olive oil. just dip the beans in buttermilk then bread crumbs and put it in parchment paper to bake. You can top it with Parmesan cheese.
