I brought this tofu puffs two months ago, mean time lot of things happens in the life and can not use that. One day I just had it and thought to make something out of it before its expiry. Meantime saw this recipe on internet , she made this with pork , but I had this tofu puffs to use so its perfect for me. But if you want to use non veg like pork, chicken, fish , lamb , just use more water in marinade and cook on both sides till its perfectly cooked. I can not give you time on non veg because I have no idea how long it takes to cook. But if you are using regular tofu then just make it crispy on both sides and take it aside and then proceeds with rest of the cooking method as per recipe. This doesnot require any extoic vegetables or sauces, just use same ingredients different way and you will have different dishes all the time.
Ingredients :
1 cup of Tofu puffs
4 cups boiled noodles of your choice
1 or 2 Jalapenos sliced in circle (you can take 1 and take out seeds if you prefer less spicy)
2 tbsp cornstarch
2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. soya sauce
1 tbsp. soya sauce
2 tsp. black pepper freshly cracked
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tsp each finely chopped ginger and garlic
2 tbsp. oil
1 sliced onion
1 sliced carrot
few slices of Ginger
4 slices of Garlic matchsticks
1/2 red capsicum sliced match sticks
1 cup shredded Cabbage
Method:
In a bowl, whisk together cornstarch, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes , water, finely chopped ginger, garlic and mixed well.
Add tofu puffs in the mixture and make sure it covered from everywhere.
In a pan, add oil.
In a single layer cook tofu puff for minute and half. Turn on other side and cook it for a minute.
Take it out, here if you use meat, you have to cook it perfectly.
In same pan, add jalapenos, cook for a minute.
then add ginger and garlic slices for a minute.
Then add all the vegetables and boiled noodles and cook till its tender.
Add black pepper, soya sauce , red pepper flakes and mix it nicely.
Add tofu puffs again and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro and enjoy.
