I want to share one good news with you all. I won my first ever actual gift from http://nivedhanams.blogspot.in/2013/05/healthy-foods-for-healthy-kids.html and http://www.nithubala.com/ for my recipe of calzone. Thank you so much Sowmya and Nithu for this.
Now back to today's recipe.
In my house white flour or white rice used rarely. Even for chinese or mexican food I don't use white rice , use brown rice. For pizza or pasta we used whole wheat flour. So when I make pav bhaji I always buy WW Hamburger buns or wheat bread. This time I decided to make it home cause there is no whole wheat traditional pav bhaji buns out here. When I was looking for recipe , I saw everyone was using AP flour or Bread flour, Since I am not a baker I don't keep bread flour in house. But Still I made one bread in past Spicy Beer Bread. In that also I used WW. So finally I gather my courage and make the dough and make bread. Result? you can see in the pictures.
Ingredients : Makes 13 Pav
3.5 cups WW flour
2 tsp quick rise yeast
1 cup warm water
salt to taste
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp oil
Method:
In a bowl add sugar, yeast , half cup of flour and warm water.
Stir and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes until its frothy.
In another bowl, take flour and salt. Mix it well.
Add oil also and add yeast mixture gradually and make a dough. Knead the dough till nice and soft.
It will be little sticky but its ok.
Apply oil in bowl and put the dough in it and let it rest for good 2-3 hours so yeast can do its work and dough will be double in size.
check after 3 hours
Now grease a baking dish with oil and take out all your frustration in that dough and punch it and make it again small size.
Make round balls and put it in baking dish.
Leave it like that for atleast 45 minutes.
Now heat the oven at 400. By the time you are waiting for balls to puff up again, You can pre heat the oven when you know how long it will take to reach 400. So you dont have to wait for it .
You see they are apart but after 45 minutes they will be sticking together.
Put it in the oven for 20 minutes or until nice and brown on top.
Apply little butter on top and leave again for 5 minutes , take it out and serve it with Bhaji.
Do I have to give recipe for bhaji? Nah I don't think so , You all know how to make this.
I had this with Tava Pulav and Masala Papad
Eat Healthy and stay healthy.
Use leftover bread to make upma, burger, vada pav and bhaji to make wrap, kathi roll even paratha. Mix leftover bhaji in flour and make nice crunchy paratha.
