Here we go again with Methi. Now its true I am a Methi Freak as per my fellow blooger friend says. But the goodness of methi you can not underestimated it. We need to balance our diet with sweet and salty and bitter and spicy. So without any story lets go to the business. I know just thinking about all this makes my mouth watering. If you don' have fresh methi, you can use dried too.
Ingredients :
2 tsp sour curd
1/2 cup chopped, washed Methi leaves
2 tbsp chick pea flour / gram flour / Besan
salt to taste
1 tsp turmeric powder
few strings of fresh coriander chopped
for tempering
few cloves, whole red chili pepper, black pepper, curry leaves
2 tsp ghee / oil
1 tsp Cumin
pinch of hing
freshly chopped ginger , garlic and green chilies
Method:
Whip the curd and add besan to it and mix it very well so no lumps there.
add cup of water and mix it and keep it aside.
Heat a non stick pan, add oil / ghee in it.
Add first cumin then rest of the ingredients under tempering.
Add curd mixture and methi leaves and salt and turmeric powder
Add one cup water and on medium flame let it boil for good 10 minutes.
Stir it in between.
Check the seasoning and when done sprinkle fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with jeera rice or steamed rice.
If you prefre you can add boondi in it too. It goes very well with this kadhi.
