Chutney wale Aloo / Baby Potatoes in Green Sauce

I love potatoes and my huby don't like a bit. So when ever I get a chance to make it for me, I make it for myself. This is the by far my favorite potato dish. I made it so many times before my blog and after that this is the first time I am making it so would love to share it with you. It is healthy because it requires very less oil. Anyways I don't use lot of oil. If you have boiled potatoes ready or frozen one then this will be done in 10 minutes.

On the other hand , Thank you so much Sowmya and Gayathri for choosing my recipe of Nargisi Kofta as a winning dish for May's WTML Event. Can't thank you enough to both of you and you all my friends who appreciate my dishes. Thank you so much.

Ingredients:

15 or so Baby potatoes boiled (I used frozen)
1 cup of yogurt
1 cup coriander leaves chopped
1 cup chopped mint leaves
3 green chilies (as per spice level)
3 cloves of garlic (optional)
1 inch piece of ginger
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 onion chopped
1 tsp coriander powder
salt to taste
1 tsp oil

Method:

Boiled and peel the potatoes.
Grind together coriander leaves, mint leaves, garlic, chilies  and ginger with the yogurt.

Heat oil in a pan. Add  cumin seeds and let it change the color.
Add chopped onion and sauté till it turns pink.
Add coriander powder and sauté for 2 minutes.
Now add the potatoes and ground chutney.
Add salt and simmer for about 10 minutes in low heat.

Add water if you need gravy otherwise let it coat that chutney to potatoes.
Serve hot with roti or rice.

  1. We both love potatoes very much. That gives me reasons to cook potatoes often but since of late I have cut down. Yet I still buy kilos of potatoes every week.

Nice and simple flavors, something new yet something exciting, wonderfully fragranced with mint and coriander leaves.
